In this episode, you’ll hear from Coach Phil Martelli, Jr. Coach Phil is currently the Associate Head Coach for Coach Jared Grasso at Bryant University. Bryant University is fresh off an incredible season: NEC Conference Champions, NEC Conference Tournament Champions, and an NCAA Tournament Appearance. Coach Martelli just completed year four at Bryant. Coach Phil played for his dad, Coach Phil Martelli, Sr., at Saint Joseph's University. At Saint Joe’s, Coach Phil was a co-team captain in 2002-03 and played in two NCAA Tournaments. After his playing career concluded, Coach Phil went right to the sidelines. At the age of 22, Coach Phil was an assistant coach at Central Connecticut State. As a matter of fact, Coach Phil was the youngest assistant coach in the country at the time. Coaching stops at St Joe’s, Delaware, Niagara, Manhattan, and the G League, Coach Phil has made quite an impact through the Northeast. In the opening minutes of this podcast, you will hear that Coach Phil loves being part of a team. And this concept of being a team truly resonates throughout this entire conversation.
