Coach Dean just completed year three with the Spartans. In addition, Coach Lockwood just finished year 40 in the college coaching profession. Dean has spent the last 18 years on the women’s side. Before coming to East Lansing, Coach Lockwood assisted Coach Pat Summitt at Tennessee, where he helped the Lady Vols capture two national championships. In addition, Coach Lockwood coached 26 WNBA Draft picks in Knoxville. Before becoming one of the most accomplished women’s basketball assistant coaches in the country, Coach Lockwood coached on the men’s side. Specifically, he was the head coach at Northwood University and at Saginaw Valley State University and coaching stops with the men at Army, Tennessee, and Central Michigan.
